We have been engaged by a rapidly growing company in Roswell that is looking to bring on an Accounting Manager. This is a highly acquisitive company with a role that offers a clear path to Senior Accounting Manager and Controller. This position requires a thorough knowledge of general accounting methods, principles and practices and the ability to apply  this knowledge  creatively in situations where procedures may not be prescribed or well defined.  Typical functions would include preparing financial statements pertinent to assigned areas, preparation of management reports and recommending new systems or modifications of existing systems to provide better financial control.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
    • Month closing process
    • Perform general ledger close activities, preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts including intercompany accounting entries and reconciliations
    • Accounts payable/receivable
    • Cash receipts and cash forecasting
    • General ledger
    • Payroll
    • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis
    • Capital assets reconciliations
    • Fixed asset activity
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
    • Make adjusting journal entries for errors and specific financial reporting transactions
    • Perform other duties and complete assignments as directed by the Controller
    • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits
    • Provide recommendations & Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
    • Lead projects and manage progress to ensure compliance and accuracy
    • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
    • Maintain monthly accruals and recurring journal entries
    • Responsible for the monthly financial report preparation, timely and accurate reporting
    • Complete monthly supplemental schedules
    • Validate monthly divisional activity
    • Record cash receipts and reconcile earnest money deposits
    • Monitor fixed asset additions, deletions, and reconciliations
    • Prepare account reconciliations
    • Manage daily cash activity, wires and transfers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. in Accounting preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong communication/client interaction skills required
  • 3-5 years experience as an accountant required.
  • Computer experience and knowledge in Microsoft Office products including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive Excel experience required
  • SAGE experience preferred
