Accounting Analyst - Supply Chain

We have partnered with our client in their search for an Accounting Analyst Consultant to support general ledger accounting, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities within a manufacturing environment. This is a hybrid role based in the Atlanta, GA area.

The consultant will help ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP. This individual-contributor role will work closely with accounting, finance, and operational stakeholders while supporting journal entries, financial analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, audit requests, and accounting-process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, supporting analyses, and financial reports for assigned accounts and business areas.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Review financial results for completeness and accuracy.
  • Perform trial balance and flux analyses to identify and investigate unusual account activity.
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations using BlackLine.
  • Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
  • Support accounting activities involving the general ledger, inventory, material pricing, and goods receipt reconciliation.
  • Maintain assigned financial subsystems or ERP modules and support their efficient day-to-day operation.
  • Compile and analyze financial information in accordance with GAAP.
  • Monitor compliance with established accounting policies, processes, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and maintain accounting-process and control documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Work directly with operational stakeholders to provide accounting and financial support for new initiatives and ongoing business activities.
  • Prepare reports, schedules, and supplemental information for monthly, quarterly, and annual audit requests.
  • Support special projects and ad hoc reporting as assigned.
  • Collaborate with finance managers, budget managers, accounting colleagues, and operational personnel to promote accurate reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • General ledger accounting and month-end close experience.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, financial analyses, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and financial-reporting principles.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience supporting inventory-related accounting processes.
  • Prior experience using a large ERP system.
  • Experience working in a large, multi-location business environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to accurate financial reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to work effectively with accounting, finance, operations, and management stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a cross-functional team.
